Sonakshi Sinha might be the new dabangg actor of Bollywood, but she is showing her star power in the advertising world too. As Sonakshi goes about signing back-to-back endorsement deals, she has been constantly venturing into Katrina Kaif’s territory as brand ambassador.
To start with, Sonakshi had – some time ago – bagged a beauty soap brand, earlier endorsed by Katrina. And now, she has been announced as the new face of a fashion label, of which Katrina was the brand ambassador earlier. Also, Sonakshi is in talks to become the young face of a shampoo brand which already has Katrina as its brand ambassador.
But the actor feels that she’s “not replacing anyone.” She adds: “I am just filling up a space that was empty for long. But yes, I’m enjoying it.” Incidentally, Sonakshi and Katrina have another interesting connection – both are Salman Khan’s protégées. However, Sonakshi is Salman’s new favourite co-star now. Besides Dabangg 2, she will work with him in Kick and Partner 2, according to latest reports.
But Sonakshi feels there’s no tension between Katrina and her. “I’ve met Katrina quite a few times and we do not discuss such things (ad deals),” she says, adding, “They (actors like Katrina) have been around for quite sometime now. And I really hope that I’ll also be there soon.”
Sonakshi, though, is “heartened and flattered” that established brands have recognised her potential. “It’s quite heartening to see that companies feel I am capable of representing them in reaching out to their respective target groups,” Sonakshi says.
