Halle Berry gets restraining order against stalker
Halle Berry has been granted a restraining order against a stalker.
Richard A Franco was arrested near the Oscar-winning actress's Hollywood Hills home on Monday. Court papers say that he scaled the wall to her property on three separate occasions in the past week.
Berry said in court papers: "He has terrorised me and my family in three consecutive incidents over the last three days.
"This person has invaded and trampled upon the most fundamental sense of security I have... I am extremely frightened of him and what he might do to me and those I love."
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Carol Goodson made a temporary restraining order which prevents Franco from approaching Berry, her 3-year-old daughter Nahla Aubry or her home.
Meanwhile Berry's alleged stalker Richard Franco apparently has an extensive criminal record.
Berry initially phoned police on Saturday after noticing the man "lurking around" her property, though he escaped confrontation at the time.
Franco was later arrested on Monday night after once again being spotted attempting to scale Berry's garden wall.
He had originally evaded arrest, but was taken into custody by police when the actress's neighbours spotted him in the area.
TMZ has since reported that Franco has a lengthy list of criminal offences and was only recently released from a prison term which he was serving for battery.
He has also reportedly been accused of felony theft and felony vandalism as well as several drug and juvenile offences and was recently ordered to attend anger management sessions.
The Los Angeles Police Department Threat Management department is also said to have become involved in the case and is said to have "concerns" about Franco's behaviour.
